Centering Blackness Fellow
Alicia Walters is equal parts dreamer and creator committed to helping us heal, express and grow liberating communities, cultures and practices. She is the Centering Blackness Fellow at The Maven Collaborative where she experiments with the applications of Centering Blackness, documenting its potential and impact for narrative and cultural shift. As the creator of the Black Thought Project, Alicia curates and facilitates interactive, immersive experiences where multiracial communities practice Centering Blackness in public. She was the facilitator and co-creator of the Black Future Newsstand, and creative director and author of WHOLE: a Vision for Abortion Freedom. Alicia facilitates transformative environments where people can tap into their knowing, embody their joy, express their visions and engage their gifts. Her work and writing have been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, EBONY and TIME, among other publications.
